About Victoria

Victoria Petro has dedicated her tenure on the Salt Lake City Council to ensuring the Westside community remains safe, vibrant, and inclusive. With a strong focus on affordable housing and equitable development, Victoria has stood firm against displacement, leading the charge for balanced growth in the Fairpark and Power District areas. She has successfully secured increased resources and safety measures for local parks and advocated tirelessly for transparent decision-making that involves resident input.

Committed to addressing the homelessness crisis compassionately, Victoria has supported innovative solutions such as managed encampments and mental health crisis facilities. She has worked to enhance public safety along key community areas, such as the Jordan River Trail, ensuring both safety for residents and support for unsheltered community members.

Prior to her role on the City Council, Victoria was deeply involved in local nonprofit leadership and advocacy, focusing on community empowerment and resource accessibility. Her experience gives her unique insight into the challenges facing Westside families and fuels her unwavering dedication to advocating for policies that create sustainable, equitable, and inclusive neighborhoods.
